Congrats to Madonna Students
Madonna Catholic Secondary School has an all-girl robotics team that recently competed in the Skills Ontario Competition with their robots named Turkey and Stuffing.
They are the first all-girls team to do so and they won silver!
An amazing accomplishment, and congratulations again.

On Friday June 16, 2017 at 6:00 pm in Downsview Park the Canadian Cancer Society will be hosting its annual Relay for Life. As a community, we can stand together and walk a lap of silence to remember the devastating toll that cancer has taken on our friends and families. Orchard Planting at Aptus
Help Aptus plant an urban orchard with Susan Poizner, founder of Orchard People!
Tomorrow, Saturday,

· Help us plant 25 bare root fruit trees at the Aptus Teaching Landscape
· Volunteers will help prep the soil and plant trees as they learn from urban fruit tree expert Susan Poizner!
· All ages and abilities welcome
· Lunch will be provided, but will try and bring your own reusable water bottle

Show: Fables for the future is a theatrical tale of ecological transformation featuring giant puppets, live music, a singing fox, and a dancing robot. Bring your own blanket and a picnic dinner!

At Home Alone Workshop – Tomorrow, Saturday, 10am-12pm
A fun family workshop to help families assess if their 10-14 year old is ready to be home alone. The aim is to learn how to communicate together, increase safety knowledge and to develop an At Home Alone plan together. This program is facilitated by a Public Health Nurse. Toronto Fire Services: Stay Safe in Your Home – Thu Jun 08, 2017, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Toronto Fire Services wants to help you learn how to stay safe in your home.
Topics will include:
- preventing a fire from happening to you
- placement and need for smoke & CO alarms
- fire safety in high-rise buildings
- causes of home fires
- eliminating nuisance alarms
- calling for help and much more
