Downsview Park Development Flooding Graves?
Again, a disturbing incident has occurred regarding the sale and development of Downsview Park.

This time the Canadian Jewish News has revealed that the graves of War Veterans are being flooded by the Downsview Park development. Some graves have even collapsed.

You can read the shocking story here.
http://www.cjnews.com/news/canada/development-blamed-for-flooding-veterans-graves

The photos are unbelievable.

Here are some more photos from the cemetery board of the damage in 2015 and in 2016.

If this is happening to the cemetery, what other harm can we expect from the further sale and development of Downsview Park?

It is important that you write the new federal government.
Click Here to EMAIL the Federal  Minister of Public Services and Procurement Now

and tell Hon. Minister Judy Foote to:

1. Stop the Sale and Development of Downsview Park
2. Protect it as green space by giving it back to Toronto or putting it in better hands.

Together we can fight back against the sale and development of Downsview Park.

Downsview Memorial Parkette 10 Year Anniversary Celebration
The Downsview Memorial Parkette Festival Committee invites you to be part of the celebration for the Parkette that ushered in an era of revitalization in Downsview.

The community is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Downsview Memorial Parkette (MOTH Gardens). It is a community hub, an award-winning park, a memorial space for Downsview’s fallen World War II soldiers, and a commemoration space for Downsview’s Aerospace heritage.

Some of its rich design features can only be seen by air! It is a jewel and we are celebrating with arts, local talent, music, a full festival, attractions, a sound stage, unique food offerings and more. An amazing festival in an amazing area. Do not miss out on this opportunity, come and join us on Sunday, June 26, 2016.

Sunday June 26, 2016

Meeting To Discuss The Future of Wilson
On March 1, 2016 I held a meeting to discuss the on-going improvements to Wilson Avenue.  Invited was cross-section of representation including local residents, service providers, community groups, labour unions, business operators, City staff (Planning, Transportation, Economic Development) and potential investors in the neighbourhood.

A thorough history of Wilson Avenue was presented, as well as the latest City Council initiatives to improve local conditions on Wilson. Photographs and renderings of future improvements—utility box upgrades, mural treatments, street furniture components, were shown and received considerable support.

The complete overhaul and transformation of Wilson Avenue will continue with these transformative projects, in addition to renewed enthusiasm to invest in our community from public and private partnerships. The future for Wilson Avenue is bright!

New Lights Coming To Wilson and Murray Road
Many residents signed a petition asking for new traffic control signal lights to be installed at Wilson Ave. and Murray Rd. I am pleased to announce that this item passed recently at Council. The new lights are scheduled to be installed by Spring 2017.
