More Money for Downsview Public Library
During the 2016 budget session of City Council I moved a successful motion to provide much needed repair monies to Downsview Public Library for next year. Read more about that here.

Downsview Landlord Summit
Many programs are offered to assist landlords and property owners to upgrade their properties and make their buildings more attractive, efficient and eco-friendly. I recently held a summit of local stakeholders to help them better understand what is on offer and improve their Downsview properties and continue to revitalize Downsview.

I am proud to be re-elected as the leader of this regional Authority which does tremendous work protecting our water, and green space.

We’re Getting Recreation Upgrades
Our community is getting a big batch of improvements to our recreation programs. Here are some highlights. Full list here.

  • Increased weight room hours and new equipment at Northwood
  • Women’s only hours at Northwood: Mon, Wed, Fri from 9:30am – 12pm
  • Two new youth lounges at Northwood and Grandravine
  • Youth cooking programs, additional drop-in programs and development of youth councils at each centre
  • Calico PS running two march break programs
  • New youth group at Grandravine CC participating in 9 week leadership workshop series with Toronto Public Health
EMS Station Update
Construction has started on the new City of Toronto EMS Multi-function station. The first of its kind to be constructed in the City of Toronto, this facility reflects current trends in providing Emergency Medical Services to the community by providing centralized support operations for ambulances deployed into the surrounding area. Council recently approved an item that will allow for free permits for arts and music activities in our parks. Permit holders may use it at places like Northwood Park and Reading Sprouts Garden in our community. For more info, read the council motion here.

Clean Toronto Together Registration
Toronto’s annual spring clean-up weekend returns this April 22-24.  Grab friends, family and co-workers to help clean your local playground, trail, beach, laneway or sport field. Register here to help.

Community Energy Storage. Think of a battery in your cell phone or car. Put thousands of them together and you have a system capable of storing electricity and providing power when needed to one or more customers. There is a pilot program at Grandravine right now. Read more about it here.

75 Billy Bishop Way Update
