Toronto York Spadina Subway Extension

Winter 2010 Newsletter – Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension

The TYSSE will provide a critical extension to the existing TTC subway system. Commissioners approved the award of a contract worth $14.3 million for a new connection from Downsview Station on the Yonge-University-Spadina Subway to Wilson Subway Yard. 6 new stations will be constructed including Sheppard West Station located in Councillor Augimeri’s ward.

95 News Buses Arriving in 2011-2012

Commissioners approved the award of two contract options for the purchase of 95 low-floor, clean-diesel buses. Built by Daimler Buses North America Ltd., 35 buses are scheduled for delivery in 2011, and 60 buses are scheduled for delivery in 2012.

Sheppard Station

Sheppard West Station will be located on Parc Downsview Park lands and CN/GO Barrie rail line. GO Transit is working with the TTC to construct a new GO station complimentary to the design of the Sheppard West station.
